I grew up in Kathmandu, studied and worked in the US and now have the opportunity to return to Nepal to do some good, which I'm pretty excited about. I'm a pretty social person and my problem is none of my friends I grew up with in Nepal are around anymore, other than some close family. For those that have returned to Nepal - how have you managed to find mature (~30s and 40s), educated, intelligent and meaningful friends in Kathmandu? Some folks you can truly connect with and go out and socialize with some times?

Are there any local meetup groups, or young professional organization or clubs that you would recommend checking out?

Thanks for any insights!

Are you looking for male friends or female friends? Finding a true friend on this planet is almost impossible in this Kali Yuga. Those who have true friends live happily in this planet.

Haha I had the same issue the last time I went back home after a long time. However after a few week i did find out and started hanging out with some new friends. People back home are lot more social than here so it's easy to get along.

I met some cool people in Gym , Thamel , Fussball , charity events etc.
