I got speed ticket with 4 points in VA. This is my first time that I got the ticket and I have VA car and license. Its in Roanoke and if I decide to go to court, It takes me almost 6 hrs to go there. Anything that I can do to reduce/waive the points?

Go to court, since it's your first time judge can lower the point.Or hire lawyer but they can charge up to $1000.Just two choice you have.I got 2 points few years back, judge reduced my point to 1 .

I got $150 ticket for crossing red light. I appealed it. At court my documents were not there and judge dismissed it.

I didnt get ticket but court date for reckless driving. In VA if you drive above speed 80 or more than 20 than limit speed you will be charged as reckless driving. I was driving at 87 on 70 Speed limit. I went to court and my case was reduced to careless drving and  fined me $250. Reckless drving may cost you upto $2,500 and jail time so be careful while you drive in VA.

- Reckless driving is not a traffic citation, it's a criminal charge, and a Class One misdemeanor at that. That means it's the highest level of misdemeanor you can be charged with in Virginia, right below a felony
