Hi,
How long it takes to complete a travel document, I-131 process ? Can a person leave US after the I-131 filed ? I live in Fairfax, VA, this is for re-entry permit for Green card.

It depends with your service center. Mine was filed in NSC and got EAD/AP in about 28 days. If you have valid visa (may be you are in H1B), you can leave the states once you get receipt number (if you file I-485 as well).

I applied for my parents last April..It took me almost 3 Month after getting the receipt number...I was also familier of the case which was done within 3-4 weeks its really depends. As of now I really think it will take 3-5 month..Yeah you can leave the country after the finger print but USCIS people wants you to wait at list 2-3 weeks coz sometimes finger print doesn't go through and you have to redo finger print.
