hey guys,
i have been in the us for a few months now and have been working here and there and make not so much. i have been hearing about the IT consultancies and they provide training and stuff. i am okay with computers (well i can type fast i guess) and did some qbasics and have basic computer knowledge. so i was wondering 1) where do i go to get these trainings? my preferred location is california although i am in nyc right now.
2) do they charge money? or is it free? i heard i would have to live there for a long time. how long does it usually take?
3) what is the money like?
4) will they train someone like me with no computer background?
5) can somebody recommend me some consultancies?

It is mostly free for training.
Money wise it depends on what technology you get into. Data related stuff pays usually the highest.
-- Money is ok ...starts around 40-45K(lowest) depending on location.
-- Yes they train people with no computer BG as well..usually for QA positions.

Recommendation wise....vistika inc in texas is a good place to start for some information. It is owned by a Nepali I believe.

For IT consulting job basic requirement is google search knowledge, looks like you might be overqualified,

wow thanks. everybody's doing it so im thinking of giving it a go as well and try my luck. btw how long does the training last if i want to take up the QA position? and how much money should i save up for the duration? i dont want to be totally dependent on the consultancies for everything. i have some saving but idk if thats going to be enough. and is the training intense? thanks

QA and BA... never go with that... Whatever consultancy you go and whatever they promise, your future is in pendulum... sooner or later you will be frustrated because you WON'T get job... and it is the lowest paying job in IT.
